CQJP Paris walking the dog

So this is sumething you will see in Paris alOt

a very chique lady walking her dog.

Parisians love their dogs, they take them everywhere

and like their children, these dogs are very well behaved.

You see them everywhere, under tables in cafes,

outside groceries guarding bikes,

or walking thir people through the markets or down the street.

this lady is dressed for work

walking her dog through the champs elise

on her way to her office job, not all though many,

who allow their people to bring their dogs to work.

where did the summer go?

Benny RIP 11th may 2015
Until this weekend our weather has been inordinately nice.

I am not used to all this sun

Wait, what?Is she complaining about nice weather?
                                      Yes I am.

So it just takes 6 years for you to become attuned to your new environment to the point that you're complaining about the weather like a native. Huh.

That I lived my first 45 years in Chicago, this makes me a little giggly.

Now, I know I haven't bogged anything since June, this is due to many things.
The death of my cat Benny, a visit from my dd#2 for a month, in which we did a lot of sight seeing and the moving in of my son to figure out his life post army.
my little helper
 Phew!
I was prepared for the daughter and son invasions but Benny's death threw me.
he developed an inoperable cancerous tumor, poor baby! he wouldn't eat and dropped 2lbs in a week. so we had to make the difficult decision to put him down.

Anyway it has been a little difficult to get back on my hobby horse with all the hoo-ha.

I did finally finish Julys cqjp/bjp and have been teaching a class every second Tuesday on embroidery and cq, which bless me has kept me more or less on an even keel.

I love my ladies! They make me giggle. Last class we all ended up singing campfire songs, now given that I am the youngest in the group and was able to keep up, this also makes me happy.

anyway, the July CQJP/BJP is fly stitch and lots of blue

which goes with the weather we have been having.

Lots of beautiful blue skies

I did a folded 13mm silk ribbon  tacked with little blue teardrops
(my wish for rain)

I'm rather pleased with how the upper right seam treatment came out.
BJP July

and the little brown bug in the lower right hand corner is for my BJP portion.

here is the whole thing finished

a pouch and a puss

I'm putting a new pouch in the shop today.
it's a little bigger than the others about 5"x5" with a silk cord strap.

a lucky spider in the corner, lots of lacy bits...

A dragonfly and fan in the lower corner
and roses curling up the side

I had just enough of these dangles left over from something else to put on the bottom and two for accents at the side.

when I came back in my room to make my bed this morning I found this between the pillows!

I  didn't have the heart to disturb her so the bed will get made later than usual today!

Oh Boy! it's been a while since I posted last!

I haven't abandoned the bloggersphere, I have just had other things to tend to.

you can see my desk is in it's usual state, a mess!

My Garden has grown splendidly, hasn't it!

the view from my front porch is one of my favorites.

lest you think i haven't been doing ANYTHING this summer rest assured

the ORTs jar is being well used!

I may not be posting more than bits and bob's of my ongoing project as it has grown well beyond the original 4 panels into 9!

It's turning out rather better than i had imagined and I am even thinking of entering it in something, as I have just a vauge notion of the rules required in doing that i'm going to be circumspect in what i post about it for a while.

I have decided to dub it my heritage quilt and am working on the main blocks.

as I am a bit of a mutt I have a lot to work with!

I am also doing a bit of studying up on my, various and sundry nationalities, in hopes of getting a better handle on the ravening hordes, that make up my heritage.

As a result I am learning a great deal such as, scottish history is a disaster almost from start to finish, the Celts got farther than I thought and the vikings got everywhere!

we had a visit from my youngest, for a month, during the summer. which was lots of fun!
much here-ing and there-ing in and around seattle.

my son graduated army boot and was sent to fort hood instead of fort louis McCord.(BOO!)

my DD who lives with me was everywhere with friends who had a car for the summer.

I have detail pictures of Bayeux stitch that i have done for a part of the Norway block.
I was inspired by pierres papier sciseaux and her bayeux tapestry project. it's in french but she adds english translation for those who do not parle`.

as a matter of fact the only member of the family not busy was the cat, seen here lounging on the bed quilt started by my gramma and lately by my mom.  she barely moved for this picture and her only comment, was a rather peevish meow when the flash went off!

Now for the new year

Ms twitchy whiskers
This lovely little girl is Jubilie, our rescue kitty. and the newest member of our household.
she is still getting used to her new roost and is still looking for her fellow cast-outs.

every day she gets less skittish and more used to the noises the house makes.
cat ball

She has also decided several spots are now "hers"
My daughters bed is one of those spots

This little paisley is my first installment to this years BJP.
white for the missing snow of this winter

I've decided to make a paisley for each month this year.
each one 2-3 inches.

I have decided it's about time I did something with this dress.
so I am going to embroider things all over it, this peacock is the first.
