new stuff for ETSY

Now I realize, it's just too dang early for christmas but well I have a few things finished and they just so happened to be themed that way.

the past few years I haven't been feeling all that chirstmassy at christmas time anyway.

I tend to be one of those people who gets stuff done, when I get it done (unless it's FOR somebody)

to top it all off its 50* and raining in the great NW.

if the furnace was still on it would have run this morning.

as it is I had to put on my fuzzies and a sweater.  -.- hello juluvember.

anyway enough grousing about the wacky weather, the little christmas pouches are cute aren't they...

the first one is just big enough for a small set of keys and a cell phone

the 3 girls is tiny 2"x2" so it can hold a small present &/or be hung on the tree.

the third one is another cell pouch that has room for keys and maybe one more item

I love the horse sleigh on this one.

though I will admit to going a little crazy with the snowflakes

the next piece is a ring pillow I only had half the lace heart motif so I had to stitch the rest of it.

I also put a bunch of beads on it.

the dragonfly's wings untie so the rings can be secured to the pillow

and the last pouch is just too frilly and pink for words.

not my usual colorway but I need to stretch myself now and again and do the frilly pink thing

hey not everyone is good at cutesy foo-foo! I have to practice at it!

this is what I have been up to so far, the blooms of summer

though there has been a lot of gardening as it has been unusually warm around here,

until yesterday that is

more on that later

sewing and coughing don't mix!

looks like a cqshop barfed on it!
Ok, so, walking pnumonia isn't fun, especially over a holliday!
I have been trying to plug along through a stuffy nose, shaky hands and coughing myself insideout.
my friends sewing and coughing don't mix!
ort's jar
half the time you loose your place and the other half you loose the needle, it's just badness.
I'll live, that prognosis is good, though I'm still coughing, it doesn't make me want to take a nap anymore!)

I got my FFT RR#16  block back and is it lovely!
I'm just going to add a thing or two and it will be perfecto!
I also worked on the changes Gerry suggested for the blue/brown block
(Isn't she the greatest!)

I added a fan to the yawning empty brown space and added a birds nest with two glass lampwork beads, I got in my monthly embellishments package from Eveningstar designs.

those are great if you need a random stash boost!
Carolyne sends out a selection of ribbons, lace, beads, silk ribbon, buttons, charms, silkies and all sorts of fun stuff!

it's totally random and a lovely little surprise in your mailbox once a month!

I get nothing for promoting BTW.
I just love her cqclubs and she is a lovely person to have gotten to know over the years.

we put up the tree this weekend and it looks fabulous like it does every year! it does need one more string of lights though, i ran out of them at the top of the tree so when they blink the whole top goes dark!
I started a stocking for my DD she requested I make her a new one this year, in apple greens with a turtle on it! so far so good!

my Christmas stocking

I finished my DBF's stocking before christmas and as you can see, I am making progress on my stocking too

I will probably mess with it some more next year but for now I am satisfied with it

the Key is a play on my maiden name of Noelke
Noel-key, get it;)

the cryllic letters stand for my name in Russian

and the two Birds are "nesting'
the erring is one that my mother made for me, the other one broke and I used the bugle beads in the DBF's stocking as organ pipes.

the asiatic scene is one that used to be a pendant and the buttons were some that I found at my gramothers

playing with my organ

I thought that might get your attention, naughty girls!)
I have finished my BF's christmas stocking!

Gold ribbon went a long way to making the organs keyboard pop, what the picture doesn't show is that the bugle beads are a shimmery purple over black.

I made little christms trees of green glass leaf red stars, to brighten up that piece of lace at the top of the piece.

I also added black and purple beads to the corner seam treatment, a silver bugle charm to the wreath, my BF's name and gold beads to the poinsettia round out the upper half of the stocking.

the final bit of beading was to the green lace motif where i used lots of white and MOP beads of birds stars and hearts.

everything on the stocking represents something he loves or is dear to him. i want to point out the robin patch his mothers name is robin and the little face at the corner represents a sun, to mean Son of Robin. a little play on symbolism there.

I also want to thank you all for your kind words of encouragement and praise it was a lovely surprise to see how many of you look into my humble bog. Thank you:)

Christmas stocking

As most of my things are still in Chi town, I have been working on things that I brought with me but that only lasts for so long!

A new friend Kathy has been kidnapping me and taking me sight seeing around washington to various quilting stores and the inspiration has been rife with possibilities!

A piece of fabric here and a piece of lace there and my new stash is piling up!

My DBF isn't helping either, he keeps taking me to places where i must have this or that, fueling my addiction, naughty boy! this is why I love him;)

I started a Christmas stocking for him since he doesn't have one!

I made the wreath of some wonderful variegated fuzzy floss I received in a Christmas jumble bag, the roses are made of gold laddered ribbon

this corner is going to be an organ once I can figure out how to make it look like one!as you can see, the pipes are already down I just need to figure out the keyboard part.

the robin turned out quite well i think. I took two different colors of floss to get the mottled effect.
I used the same laddered ribbon for the gold leaves he is sitting on.

the swirly was made from gold cord and couched down.

I loved the bullion tree in NZ joe's Christmas block so much I made one of my own. the trunk is brown organdy ribbon spot tacked.

the spider will eventually get his legs and the web is made from gold DMC thread.
